I almost did not post this photo. Why? Because

I almost did not post this photo.

Why?

Because I was afraid of being judged for how I look.

But the truth is, this is me. (Although, I am usually not so sweaty and I typically did not just get stuck in a random downpour.)

I am tired of hiding who I am and not posting fun photos of me with my daughter because I am ashamed or worried about being fat shamed.

So, here it is world: I am a plus-sized female that has struggled with her weight since childhood.
No, it is not all because I like chocolate and ice cream (although, that is certainly a weakness).
I have medical issues that make weight loss difficult.

Fat shaming should not be accepted.

I LOVE Disney magic!! We got this super cute pic

I LOVE Disney magic!!

We got this super cute picture in our Photo Pass package. I don't know if it is a standard picture to get or if we got it because we dined at Cinderella's Royal Table. Either way, the thought of a princess hanging our portrait up is fun!

I realized that I never gave a recap of the best moments from Magic Kingdom. So here it is:

Favorite rides:
Pirates of the Caribbean (me)
Aladdin's Magic Carpet (my daughter rode it 3 times!)
Ariel's Grotto (my daughter's favorite - rode it 2 times)
Big Thunder Mountain, Peter Pan, and Buzz Lightyear (my sister's favorite)

Tasty food:
Dole Whip Float (also a blue drink from the Dole Whip stand)
The roasted chicken dish at Cinderella's Royal Table
The pumpkin cheesecake at CRT
My daughter loved the decorate your own cupcake at CRT

Our last day at the Disney parks was spent at Holl

Our last day at the Disney parks was spent at Hollywood Studios.

Some of the highlights:
Riding the Skyline
Riding Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway (x2)
Riding Slinky Dog & Toy Story Mania
Rising Rise of the Resistance
Seeing the Frozen Sing-a-long

Tasty treats:
Wookie Cookie (it's basically an elevated oatmeal cream pie)
Donuts from Joffrey's Coffee
Some sort of delicious blue slushy

We ended the day with some swimming.

We are sad to head home tomorrow, but we are ready to see my mom and the cats.

Highlights for the day:
Na'vi River Journey (Pandora)
Kilamanjaro Safari (especially the Savannah...for obvious reasons #iykyk )
Seeing the giraffes (my daughter's favorite)
Seeing the monkeys (my sister's fave)
Seeing the lions & a black flamingo (my favorites)
Riding the "up and down triceratops" aka TriceraTops Spin (my daughter rode it twice with no wait)

Good foods:
The BEST smoothie ever made with passion fruit. I need another one!!
A tasty ice cream sandwich from DinoBites

Then ended the day by cooling off in the pool where my daughter gained the confidence to swim on her own (with a life jacket). @popcenturyresortorlando

As a working, single mom, dinner can be a bit over

As a working, single mom, dinner can be a bit overwhelming.
Who wants to be away from their kid all day and then spend the precious few hours before bedtime cooking?

Now think about the added stress for those moms that are struggling just to put food on the table, especially during the pandemic. I am standing with @wdpusa and taking the #Pledge4Moms to show that I am standing up for moms everywhere who are doing whatever it takes to care for themselves and their families during the global pandemic.

I love this quote because too often we underestima

I love this quote because too often we underestimate the time it can take to heal from something, either in our own lives or the lives of others.

After the bank robbery, my bosses kept pressuring me to "get over it." But each person handles trauma differently. And I was NOT okay. I needed real help from a professional, from medication, and from a lifestyle change.

Admitting you need help is a great first step. If someone comes to you and expresses their distress, be open and understanding. Stand by them and never shame them for struggling. If we are honest with ourselves, we all can admit that there are times that we are NOT okay.

For some people, being not okay means that they are suffering from a mental illness. We never shame someone for having cancer and tell them to "get over it." Why would we do the same for mental illnesses?

As someone with stick-straight, thin, super fine hair, curls and body have always been out of the question.

Until now!

I announced yesterday that I joined Monat as a market partner.

Why have I started this new business venture?
1. Financial freedom: I want to be able to provide for my daughter without spending all of my time working and hoping I have enough to pay bills. As a single mom, I don't have a lot of extra money. This will give me more time and money for her future.

2. My hair: Listen...I thought I had terrible hair. It is fine, thin, always looks greasy, and falls out under stress. Now, with these amazing clean beauty products, I have NEW GROWTH, body, and can go multiple days without washing, which is healthier for your hair.

3. Confidence: Although I do not think looks should define you, let's be honest. We all feel better about ourselves when we look good. Plus, this is giving me the opportunity to learn and grow.

In 2008, my life changed in just 32 seconds when a man decided to rob the bank where I worked. I was injured and suffered from PTSD for many years.

Writing this blog post was cathartic for me. I would love for you to check it out, but even if no one reads it...it felt good to write it all down.

Looking for an all-natural way to soothe muscle aches and tension?

My sister and I are doing the Morning Meltdown 100 workouts and let me tell you...my muscles are sore!! Luckily, I have some great options available to me from Young Living:

Peppermint: my gateway oil. This is what got me started on my oil journey. A drop or 2 on the back of the neck or temples will ease tension. Bonus: the Vitality line is ingestible and can really freshen your breath in a pinch.

Deep Relief: one of my all-time favorites! I keep one at home and one at work (when I work in person). It is great for stiffness and I personally like to rub it on my temples. Be warned: it will heat up!

Cool Azul Pain Relief Cream: this is FDA approved to treat muscle pain, arthritis, sprains, strains, and more. We keep this on hand for back and knee pain.

CBD Muscle Rub by Nature's Ultra: my sister loves this one and uses it as a preventative prior to working out. It is well worth the money and a little goes a LONG way.
