To the world's greatest mom, the perfect example of how to raise daughters, the woman who has always loved and supported me matter what. I love you, Mom! Thank you for everything you do for us.

Thank you to the little girl that made me a mom. I can only hope to learn from what my mom taught me and raise you to love Jesus, care for others, and always do your best.

To all of the moms out there...those that have carried a baby, those that have lost a child, those that are struggling to become a mother, those that care for a child as your own, those that chose life for your child but could not care for them, and everyone in between...I wish you a Happy Mother's Day. Last night, my daughter gave me one last 5-year-old hug. Then this morning, I got a great, big, 6-year-old squeezy hug.

She was a little shocked to discover that her clothes from "way back" when she was 5 still fit today. She decided that maybe her body actually SHRANK when she turned 6.

It's been a while since I introduced myself, so I thought, "why not now?"

Hi!! I am Amy.

I am a single mom from Indiana to one amazing (almost) 6-year-old daughter. She fills my days with love, laughter, and some really frustrating moments.

I am really lucky to have my mom and my sister living with me. They are such a blessing to me. They help with my daughter, my sister cooks, and they (along with my cousin) are my best friends.

I work in higher education, got my MS in Psychology in 2020, AND I recently launched my plant-based, cruelty-free, vegan hair and skincare business.

Yesterday we had my daughter's 6th birthday party (actual birthday: April 29).

I am beyond blessed to have such an amazing, beautiful, smart, and kind little girl to call mine.

I pray daily for Jesus to protect her and fill her heart...and I know that He does. She already asks about baptism, which is just incredible. I can only imagine the celebration Jesus has with my dad and my brother-in-law when she says that. 💗

Thank you to my family for celebrating with us!

This quote is all about perspective. Sometimes we forget to be grateful for what we have. If we only have 1 rose, perhaps we are disappointed that we don't have a whole dozen. Then we don't cherish that rose and tend to it like we should.

The same can be said about friendship, relationships, or even our relationship with God. We don't cherish what we have, we only think about what we don't have. Then we stop cultivating it and soon are left with nothing but thorns.

How can my daughter's kindergarten year be so close to over?

At the end of this month, I will have a 6-year-old and in June, I will have a First Grader!

While this year has certainly been unusual, it has been such a year of growth for my girl. She got to experience virtual and in person school. She has an amazing teacher. She made (and continues to make) new friends. She is learning to READ and is far advanced in math.

Most of all, she has gained confidence.
While some parents may have been disappointed in a photo with a mask, I celebrate it.
Masks have given my daughter, who suffers from anxiety and sensory processing disorder, the confidence to show her personality, make friends, and learn!

I canNOT wait to see what all is in store for this beautiful, smart, kind, and talented princess.

I'm sad to report that I don't have any photos of us playing Scrabble even though I love that game! I can't find my board 😭😭

In its place, I am sharing the fun we have playing Catolpoly! Even my cat enjoys the game.
It is a great way for my daughter to learn about money and the need to pay for things. For whatever reason, kids seem to think money grows on trees or that everything is just free. 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Today is Siblings Day and I would challenge anyone to prove that they have a better sister than I do.

My sister is beautiful, strong, supportive, funny, caring, and kind. She is an amazing singer, advocate, minister, shampoo girl, and friend. Life has not always been easy for her, especially this past year, but she is a shining example of what it means to rely on Jesus and the hope He provides.
